The SILK Thread Treasure
May 10th 2026
On the occasion of the opening of Palazzo Agliardi on May 10th, the guest of honour will be silk. This project, conceived by FAI at Palazzo Moroni, extends across the city by involving other historic sites, with the aim of introducing the general public to Bergamo’s artistic heritage and exploring the theme of silk, which for centuries supported the province’s economy. The Fal’ Fil Silk Museum, located in Ranzanico in Val Cavallina, will be exceptionally hosted at Palazzo Agliardi, where it will offer a dedicated educational workshop introducing visitors to the history of silk and explaining its traditional production in the Bergamo valleys. Following the guided tour of the palazzo, there will be a special focus on silkworm breeding, featuring personal testimonies and a selection of traditional tools presented by FAI volunteers and the museum staff. The project continues on May 16th and 17th at Palazzo Moroni, with visits, workshops and many other activities and was created with the contribution of the Fondazione della Comunità Bergamasca.
